WEST KELOWNA – RCMP say the young woman behind the wheel of the car flew off Westside Road Sunday morning was going too fast.
The car plunged about 75 feet down a steep slope near Traders Cove just after 9 a.m.
West Kelowna firefighters, B.C. Ambulance paramedics and the West Kelowna RCMP all responded.
The driver, a woman in her 20’s, and the passenger, a man also in his 20’s, managed to get out and make their way to the road as emergency crews arrived.
The woman suffered very minor injuries. Her passenger wasn’t hurt.
“They didn’t even have to go with the ambulance,” according to West Kelowna RCMP Const. Ray Ennis.
No charges are being considered.
Westside Road was down to one lane for a couple of hours as a crew worked to get the vehicle up the embankment and towed away.
