6 members of motorcycle club face gang charges in Georgia

NEWNAN, Ga. – Six members of an Atlanta-area motorcycle group who authorities connected to gang activity have been indicted.

News outlets report Coweta County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy James Yarbrough says members of the Iron Cross Motorcycle Club were indicted Sept. 5 and charged with violating the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Act, following a March raid of their Newnan headquarters.

Kenneth Hamrick Campbell Jr., Lloyd Jefferson Harris, Ricky James Hartfree, Ashley Morgan Hartfree, Stephen Maxwell Kemp and Thomas Joseph Lewandowski are charged.

Sheriff’s officials began investigating the group in 2014 and focus intensified after Harris was arrested in November 2016 for chasing and shooting at two women.

Officials say they found swastikas, graffiti and other symbols associated with street gangs and hate groups at the headquarters.

It’s unclear if the accused have lawyers.
