EDMONTON – Edmonton Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish, in a testy, defensive news conference Friday, tossed the boys under the bus and doubled down on head coach Dallas Eakins.
CALGARY – The Scotiabank Saddledome has turned out to be a pretty exciting workout facility for injured prospect Sam Bennett, who is recovering from shoulder surgery.

WINNIPEG – One of the Winnipeg Jets’ final ties to Atlanta finally fell on Friday night.

TORONTO – John Tortorella’s time in Vancouver will be remembered more for trying to get into the Calgary Flames’ locker-room than what he got out of Canucks players. Mike Santorelli is the exception.
