Jason Priestley to receive ACTRA’s National Award of Excellence
TORONTO – Canadian actor and director Jason Priestley is the next winner of the ACTRA National Award of Excellence.
The 45-year-old Vancouver native will receive the award — given by the union representing 20,000-plus Canadian TV, film and radio performers — during an evening reception at L.A.’s Beverly Hilton Hotel on Jan. 31.
Priestley is still best-known for playing the earnest Brandon Walsh for nearly 250 episodes on “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
More recently he’s had roles on “How I Met Your Mother,” “Psych” and “Call Me Fitz,” for which he won a Canadian Screen Award for best comedy actor.
He also directed his first feature film, “Cas & Dylan,” in 2013.
Previous ACTRA honorees include Kiefer Sutherland, Sandra Oh and Eugene Levy.
