GENEVA, N.Y. – A new state welcome centre is now greeting visitors to the Finger Lakes.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo formally opened the new facility Thursday. Located on Seneca Lake in Geneva, New York, the centre will provide tourists with information about local activities, sites and products. One of 11 new welcome centres around the state, the Finger Lakes location is the first to sell New York-made wine, cider and beer.
Cuomo, a Democrat, hailed the centre as another investment in the upstate tourism economy. He called the Finger Lakes “one of New York’s greatest treasures” thanks to its recreational opportunities, picturesque lake setting and award-winning wines.
