LAKELAND, Fla. – Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will head to Louisiana to tour damage from Hurricane Isaac.
Romney has scheduled a last-minute visit Friday. He will tour damage with Louisiana’s Republican governor, Bobby Jindal.
The storm cancelled the first day of the Republican convention. Romney accepted the party’s nomination Thursday night to challenge President Barack Obama in the November election.
Obama has not visited Louisiana since the storm.
Isaac arrived seven years to the day after the devastating hurricane Katrina hit the area, but it was much weaker. Five deaths have been reported.
The slow response to the Katrina chaos hurt the presidency of Republican George W. Bush.
