TD Bank says third-quarter profit rises to $1.7 billion as revenues increase

TORONTO – TD Bank (TSX:TD) joined the list of Canadian banks raising its dividend in the third quarter, pushing it seven per cent higher on improved earnings.

The bank says its quarterly dividend will be 77 cents, an increase of five cents.

Meanwhile, the bank reported quarterly net income rose to $1.7 billion, or $1.78 per share.

That compares with $1.49 billion a year ago, or $1.58 a share.

After adjustments, the bank’s net income was $1.82 billion or $1.91 per diluted share.

Revenue increased to $5.84 billion from $5.38 billion.
