As he wished: Billy Crystal, Rob Reiner and others provide audio for Cary Elwes memoir

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Cary Elwes had help from some old friends for the audio of his memoir “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride.”

Among the friends, announced Monday by Simon & Schuster Audio: Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and Robin Wright. All were his co-stars in the 1987 box office favourite. Director Rob Reiner and producer Norman Lear also provided narration.

“As You Wish” comes out Oct. 14 in hardcover, e-book and audio editions. The 51-year-old actor also has appeared in the movies “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” and “Twister” and in the television series “The X-Files.”
