LONDON – Robin van Persie scored his first Manchester United goal in the Premier League as his side held on to beat Fulham 3-2 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
United had gone behind to a Damien Duff goal before the Netherlands striker levelled on his full debut. Shinji Kagawa and Rafael Da Silva scored to give United a 3-1 lead at halftime before a Nemanja Vidic own goal in the 64th started a spell of pressure by the visitors.
Elsewhere, Tottenham drew 1-1 at home to West Brom and Everton beat Aston Villa, who had Ciaran Clark sent off, 3-1 at Villa Park.
Norwich and Queens Park Rangers drew 1-1 but Wigan recorded a 2-0 win away at Southampton.
Swansea beat West Ham 3-0 in Saturday’s early kick off.
