Police search for more body parts after finding human foot in Mississauga river

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Police are scouring the shore of a river west of Toronto for body parts after finding a severed human foot in the water.

Peel police Acting Insp. Randy Cowan says officers made the grim discovery this morning in the Credit River in Mississauga.

They’ve deployed search crews, divers and dogs to comb the area.

He says it’s not clear whether the limb belongs to a man or a woman, but notes it is a right foot and its toenails are painted yellow.

Investigators believe the foot was chopped off in the last few weeks.

Cowan says the force’s homicide and missing persons department are on the case.
