‘Quite Enough of Calvin Trillin’ among finalists for Thurber Prize for American Humour
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Can there ever be too much Calvin Trillin?
A collection of the humorist’s writings called “Quite Enough of Calvin Trillin” is a finalist for the Thurber Prize for American Humor.
Other finalists announced Wednesday are Patricia Marx’s novel “Starting from Happy” and Nate DiMeo’s fictional “Pawnee,” based on the setting of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation,” for which DiMeo is a staff writer.
The winner will be disclosed Oct. 1 and will receive $5,000.
The award is named for humorist James Thurber, who was known for the short stories and cartoons he contributed to The New Yorker magazine. It first was presented in 1997.
Previous winners include Jon Stewart and the staff of “The Daily Show,” David Sedaris and David Rakoff (RAY’-kawf), who died last week.
