LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville will host its third annual Ali Week to celebrate Muhammad Ali’s impact and mark the third anniversary of the famed boxer’s death.
The events spanning June 1-9 are co-ordinated by the Muhammad Ali Center and the city of Louisville.
A release from the Ali Center says planned events include a carnival, an interfaith memorial and vigil, a homeless community project and an Ali film festival.
Other outlets in Louisville are planning companion events, including an “Ali Appreciation Night” at Louisville Slugger Field, an unveiling of new branding material for the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport and a screening of Louisville’s City of Ali documentary.
Ali died on June 4, 2016, and was buried at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
