MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. – A 33-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds before he died in Maple Ridge, B.C., but homicide investigators say they have no motive for why he was killed.
Trevor Koehler was pronounced dead in hospital Tuesday night after the shooting at about 10 p.m., at a townhouse in the Metro Vancouver suburb.
Police are looking for a compact import car, possibly a white or cream-coloured Honda, Toyota or Acura.
They say Koehler had no criminal record and that the shooting does not appear to be gang related.
Sgt. Adam MacIntosh, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Unit, says at this early stage of the investigation they can say Koehler was the victim of a targeted attack and this wasn’t a random occurrence.
He says IHIT continues to work with the Ridge Meadows RCMP to determine why this shooting occurred and who is responsible.
