Josh Hamilton joins cast of Broadway’s ‘The Real Thing’ with Ewan McGregor and Cynthia Nixon

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Josh Hamilton will play Maggie Gyllenhaal’s (JIHL’-ihn-hahlz) unhappy husband in the upcoming Broadway revival of “The Real Thing.”

The Roundabout Theatre Company said Tuesday that Hamilton will join the cast that also includes Ewan McGregor and Cynthia Nixon. Previews begin Oct. 2 and it will open officially Oct. 30 at the American Airlines Theatre.

“The Real Thing,” Tom Stoppard’s play about two couples dealing with their relationships and fidelity, won the 1984 Tony Award for best play. Sam Gold will direct the revival.

Hamilton was recently featured on “American Horror Story: Coven,” and will appear in Fox’s upcoming “Gracepoint.” His recent New York stage credits include Neil LaBute’s “Reasons to be Happy” by MCC Theater and Theresa Rebeck’s “Dead Accounts” on Broadway.
