Former Vancouver TV reporter pleads guilty to sexual assault of minor
SURREY, B.C. – A former Global TV reporter in Vancouver has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault involving a minor.
Ron Bencze (Ben-zee) was fired from the station last year.
The Crown says the abuse lasted for seven and a half years.
A lawyer has asked a provincial court judge for a prison term of two to three years.
Details of the case cannot be revealed due to a publication ban to protect the victims’ identity.
Bencze is also facing 10 other related charges in connection with the alleged abuse of three minors, and the father of three originally pleaded not guilty to all the charges. (News1130, CKNW)
