KELOWNA, B.C. – A 14-year-old boy from Vernon who was seriously injured in a boating accident in Okanagan Lake last weekend has died.
A person identifying herself as the mother of Miles Wohlford wrote in a Facebook post Miles’ family decided to remove him from life support because there was little hope for recovery.
Randi Lund says her son’s organs were donated to at least six people.
Miles fell off an inflatable tube being towed by a speedboat, which then circled and hit him with its propeller.
The boat was being driven by a 49-year-old woman from Vernon who was a family friend.
Police say alcohol was not a factor and have not said if charges will be recommended. (CKIZ)
