Kelowna artist Katie Brennan offers rare studio sale

Kelowna artist, Katie Brennan, will be having a once in a lifetime studio sale on Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the Rotary Centre for the Arts in the Alternator’s Studio 111.

Brennan was last in the local media when CBC’s Chris Walker interviewed her about her work being for sale with Crate & Barrel, an American retailer known for it’s fresh and unique point of view on the latest trends with 93 locations across the States and Canada.

Currently Brennan’s work graces the pages of the March 2017 pages of House and Magazine as part of an online article on how to frame art. Her work will also be for sale with Pottery Barn in Spring 2017. Her work has also been for sale with Williams Sonoma Home, appeared in House Beautiful and a number of tv shows and movies.

Here in Kelowna, you can also currently view original work by Brennan at the show home of Central Green. Brennan recently completed a mini-residency at the Caetani Cultural Centre in Vernon. She is also the Executive Director of the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (Artsco) and is the former Curator of the Lake Country Art Gallery.

“I love what I do so much, that sometimes things stick around with me longer than they really should” laughs Brennan.

Brennan’s work is known for its colourful graphic abstract work in gouache (a kind of paint somewhere in between acrylic and watercolour) on paper or canvas. Brennan will have many favourites available for purchase, as well as many unseen works.

All the work will be 20 to 50 per cent off and there will be ‘free gift with purchase’ for sales $300 and over. Cash, cheque and email transfer accepted. Credit Card purchases available upon request.
