Council approved a development permit for the form and character of a multiple phase hotel project located at 1580 Hwy 33 West. The initial application from June 2016 was turned down by Council; however, the updated design and layout more closely follows the Development Permit Guidelines in the Official Community Plan.

Grant-in-aid funds
Council approved allocation of $100,000 in transitional grant-in-aid funds for 2017 through the Community Social Development and Organizational Development grant programs, supporting organizations delivering social and health programs.

Okanagan Basin Water Board grants
Council authorized staff to apply for two 2017-2018 OBWB – Water Conservation and Quality Project Grants, which assist local government in addressing issues that enhance the valley-wide sustainable use of water. The grants will help with the Boyce-Gyro Park bio-swale pilot and Irrigation connection point retro-fit projects.
