Kamloops Blazers edge Kelowna Rockets in OT

KELOWNA – The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 in overtime on Friday night, March 11, at Prospera Place in Kelowna, coming back in the third and winning the game in overtime.

The Blazers scored twice in the third to tie the game 3-3 and then won it 1:25 into overtime.

Kelowna outshot the Blazers 43-38 in the game but the Rockets fell to 45-18-4-0 on the season.

The game was tied 1-1 through twenty minutes of play before Kelowna scored twice in the second period to take a 3-1 lead into the third.

Tomas Soustal and Rourke Chartier had second period goals after Justin Kirkland had opened the scoring for Kelowna in the first period. But the Blazers tied the game with a pair of goals in the third from Garrett Pilon and Matt Revel.
