Weigh-in on Gellatly Waterfront Village concepts

WEST KELOWNA – Future land uses and concepts are being discussed in the vicinity of Willow Beach and Marina Park in Gellatly Bay and the community is being invited to share their input.

The City of West Kelowna is creating a plan for Gellatly Waterfront Village to identify possible future land uses that complement what exists in the area now, and address existing issues such as parking and traffic.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to visit www.westkelownacity.ca/gellatlywaterfrontvillage to read up on the proposed concepts and complete an online survey, which closes November 12.

Creating a concept for Gellatly Waterfront Village development stems from recommendations in the Waterfront Plan, which Council adopted in 2011. The Waterfront Plan encourages mixed use development, along Gellatly Road between Angus Drive and Marina Park, in a manner that preserves existing parks and trails, enhances the public’s enjoyment of the waterfront and contributes to economic development and tourism.
