Join Ballet Kelowna for Launch event

KELOWNA – Ballet Kelowna is once again offering a preview of the season’s dancers and upcoming performances at their second annual Launch event on October 28.  Hosted by Artistic Director and CEO Simone Orlando, this event is open to the public and provides a unique opportunity to get ‘up-close-and-personal’ with Ballet Kelowna.

Launch is a one-hour informal showing that will preview new work from Ballet Kelowna’s 2015/16 Season and provide a glimpse into the Company’s daily training, rehearsals, and the choreographic process. The performance will include exciting pieces from accomplished Clifford E. Lee Choreography Award winners Gabrielle Lamb and Ballet Kelowna’s Artistic Director and CEO, Simone Orlando. Attendees will also see excerpts from The Nutcracker and Joshua Beamish’s new classical interpretation of the balcony scene duet from Romeo and Juliet.

“We invite both new and long-time Company supporters to enjoy this special sneak-peek performance,” said Orlando. “We have a lot of new ballets lined up this season and at Launch, we reveal how our productions come together.”

Admission is by donation at the door with first come, first served seating.

“As the only professional dance company in BC’s interior, we are committed to bringing excellent, inspiring and memorable dance to the region,” said Orlando, “and this year’s performances will not disappoint.”
