Lane restrictions in Rutland area for road maintenance
KELOWNA – Traffic on Springfield, Rutland and Sexsmith roads will be affected Sept. 28 to 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate asphalt rejuvenation – a pilot road maintenance procedure.
Monday, Sept. 28, Springfield Road will be reduced to one lane westbound from Monteray to Ziprick roads.
Tuesday, Sept. 29, Rutland Road from Highway 33 to Bach Road will see lane restrictions; two-way traffic will be maintained from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept 30, Sexsmith Road from Arab to Union Roads will see single-lane alternating traffic.
Motorists and cyclists are requested to follow signage and watch for traffic control personnel.
Asphalt rejuvenation will require a thin layer of sand to remain up to 10 days on the section of road. This maintenance practice is expected to extend the life of asphalt anywhere from three to seven years.
