Bernard Avenue and Ethel Street lane closures
Bernard Avenue at Ethel Street will be reduced to single-lane, alternating traffic from Saturday, Sept. 12, until Saturday, Sept. 19.
Alternating traffic control will be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekend and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Ethel Street between Bernard Avenue and Lawson Avenue will be closed to thru traffic at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, as construction continues on active transportation upgrades. This closure will be in place for the duration of the project, which is expected to be complete in November.
Transit customers using route No. 10 or making connections to downtown routes may experience service delays through the week. Visit bctransit.com/regions/kel for schedules and plan travel accordingly.
Ethel Street is identified as a key north/south active transportation route. Improvements will include a separated “cycle track” on both sides of the road, new sidewalks, landscaping and utilities improvements.
The City of Kelowna appreciates the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while construction is taking place.
