Pennsylvania bracing for latest round of winter weather

PHILADELPHIA – Pennsylvanians are bracing for another round of winter weather that’s expected to create a messy afternoon commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most areas, with 1 to 4 inches of snow and sleet expected before the precipitation turns to all rain by early Wednesday night. But 3 to 7 inches of snow and sleet is possible in some northeastern areas that are under winter storm warnings.

The storm has spurred travel restrictions and lower speed limits on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and major interstate highways. Meanwhile, many schools have cancelled classes for Wednesday or plan to hold delayed openings.

Drivers are being urged to avoid travel if possible. Those who must be out should use added caution and allow extra travel time.
