KELOWNA – The weather was perfect an event in Kelowna that gives kids with special needs a chance to have a pirate adventure on Okanagan Lake.
Some 200 kids took part in the Variety Children’s Charity annual Boat for Hope on Saturday.
The pirate ships, manned by volunteers from the Kelowna Yacht Club, launched from the public pier at the end of Bernard Avenue downtown.
Boat for Hope is also a fundraiser with the money going to the Variety Club and the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.
