RALEIGH, N.C. – Bill Peters has resigned as head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Friday.
The team confirmed Peters’ decision in a tweet, and said the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
Peters posted a record of 137-138-53 in four seasons behind the Hurricanes’ bench.
Carolina finished with a 36-35-11 record this season, 14 points out of a playoff spot.
