NHL

CALGARY – Forty-eight hours after playing in his first all-star game, Johnny Gaudreau was back in Calgary and making the type of impact that earned the Flames rookie an invite to the NHL’s gala weekend.

TORONTO – Bob Murray was California dreaming about the American Hockey League’s new Pacific Division because the Anaheim Ducks’ general manager will be able to wake up and drive down the coast to see his minor-league team in San Diego.

PHILADELPHIA – Nick Schultz makes a living trying to keep pucks out of the net, instead of shooting them.

TORONTO – Jonathan Bernier lost sight of a harmless shot Oliver Ekman-Larsson let fly from the neutral zone and missed another that Martin Hanzal banked off his back from the goal-line. With that, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ chances of ending their losing streak faded away.

CALGARY – Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk hasn’t changed a thing since being acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes.

WINNIPEG – Jets centre Bryan Little doesn’t think his line’s recent statistics should be blown out of proportion.

OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators defenceman Marc Methot did not have a very auspicious start to Saturday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, but it certainly ended well for him and his Senators teammates.

PHILADELPHIA – Steve Mason’s first shutout of the season still kept him shut out of the win column.

WINNIPEG – Rookie John Klingberg wasn’t making a big deal about his four-point game— even if it was the first of his NHL career.

CALGARY – Chalk up yet another third period comeback for the Calgary Flames.
