Lululemon yoga wear company reports a lower Q1 profit but higher revenues

VANCOUVER – Lululemon Athletica Inc. reports a lower first-quarter profit of $19 million compared with $47.2 million during the same quarter last year. Diluted earnings per share for the quarter were 13 cents compared with 32 cents year-over-year. Net revenue for the quarter increased 11 per cent to $384.6 million from $345.8 million. The yoga wear company says its board of directors has approved a stock buy-back program up to $450 million of its common shares.

Rogers to spend $450 million over 3 years to upgrade its B.C. wireless network

VANCOUVER – Rogers Communications (TSX:RCI.B) will spend an additional $450 million over the next three years to upgrade its wireless communications network in British Columbia, where it’s in a tight race for market share with Telus Corp. Toronto-based Rogers announced Thursday that it will expand its network in more than 70 communities in the province. It also said it would enhance its current mobile network so it can carry high-speed Internet to more places, including deep inside buildings, elevators and basements where signals may not have reached previously.
