Silver Wheaton reports US$141.4M Q2 profit, down from US$148.1M a year ago

VANCOUVER – Silver Wheaton Corp. (TSX:SLW), which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, said Thursday it earned US$141.4 million or 40 cents per share in its latest quarter compared with $148.1 million or 42 cents per share a year ago. Sales totalled $201.4 million, up from $194.8 million.

The Keg reports higher gross sales of $118.5M in Q2; same-store sales up 1.8%

VANCOUVER – Steakhouse chain The Keg Royalties Income Fund (TSX:KEG.UN) reports gross sales by the 102 restaurants in its royalty pool rose by $6.1 million to $118.5 million in the second quarter. The figures, which amounted to a 5.4 per cent increase over the comparable 2011 period, included a 1.8 per cent hike in consolidated same-store sales in Canada and the United States.

Amica Mature Lifestyles books Q4 loss, fiscal year ends with $10.6 million loss

VANCOUVER – Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc. (TSX:ACC) had a $4 million net loss in its fiscal fourth quarter, and a $10.6 million loss for the full 2012 financial year ended May 31. The Vancouver-based company, which operates luxury seniors residences, has been losing money on its property ownership activities due to acquisitions. Revenue increased to $21.6 million in the fourth quarter, up 24 per cent from a year earlier, while annual revenue was $77.7 million in fiscal 2012 — up 18 per cent from $59.3 million in fiscal 2011.
