Bold thieves steal Buckerfields’ ‘famous’ cat

KELOWNA – A brazen case of catnapping has employees and customers of Buckerfield’s in Kelowna missing their unofficial store mascot.

Tylor Wood is an employee of the farm and garden supply store. He says that on Saturday at around 1 p.m. a product rep who was in the store alerted employees that a woman had just left with their cat.

Chelsea Trudel, another employee, ran outside and saw the woman get into an orange Dodge Ram Datona with a black spoiler and black stripe. A male was at the wheel. She says the pair drove off and has not been seen since.

The woman is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’5” in her 40’s or 50’s.

Annie, whose age is unknown, came to the store pregnant a year and a half ago and has been a fixture there ever since. She is a medium-sized cat with a distinctive, torn left ear and a tattoo 76KNA in her right ear.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
