Summerland golfer wins $10,000 after shooting hole-in-one

A hole-in-one was scored at the Summerland Golf and Country Club.

The golfer who swung the phenomenal shot was Len Filek from Summerland. He scored it on Hole 2 which is a par three, and since it happened while participating in Chase the Ace Charity Golf Day, he won a $10,000 cash prize.

“That picture is exactly how he was,” according to Toni Clark, who organized the tournament, which was a fundraiser for the Agur Lake Camp Society.

“He looked like that all day, only he was off the ground the whole time.”

The news spread like wildfire and had everybody on the course excited, Clark said.

“People were in the clubhouse hearing what happened on the course, it’s a very unique thing. We were all really really excited for him.”

The event raised more than $7,000 for Agur Lake Camp.
