
Suspect nabbed in holdup at Kamloops store
A robbery suspect is cooling their heels in the slammer after getting caught following a holdup at a Kamloops store early this morning.
Officers were called to an unidentified business at around 5:45 a.m. today, June 13, in the 3000 block of Westsyde Road, according to an RCMP media release.
Police said a man walked into the store, demanded cash, threatened the clerk and took off on foot. RCMP don’t say if the suspect got away with any cash or merchandise, or if anyone was hurt during the holdup.
Officers caught a suspect quickly.
Xavier Sky Kalelest, 25, of Kamloops, is charged with one count of robbery and remains in custody, police said.
