Molotov cocktail destroyed by police at Brock park

KAMLOOPS – A bottle containing explosive materials was found and destroyed by police in Singh Bowl Park Thursday.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush says police were called to the park, located near the corner of Singh Street and Ord Road, in the afternoon. When they arrived they found a two-litre plastic pop bottle filled with plastic bags and fluid.

The Explosives Disposal Unit was called in and around 8:30 p.m. the item was destroyed, producing a fire ball.

Police are now asking for anyone with information about the bottle to contact them at 250-828-3000 or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
