Kelowna Rockets edge visiting Blazers

KELOWNA – The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Kamloops Blazers 2-1 on Saturday night, March 14, at Prospera Place in Kelowna, splitting a weekend home and home with the Blazers.

The Rockets improved to 51-13-4-1 on the season with the win.

Rockets captain Madison Bowey scored his 16th of the season in the second period to snap a 1-1 tie.

Rourke Chartier returned to the Rockets line-up and opened the scoring with his 47th marker of the season.

Jackson Whistle earned the win in net as Kamloops outshot Kelowna 30-26.

The Rockets now have just three games left in the WHL regular season. Kelowna will host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday, March 18 at Prospera Place before closing out the season with a home and home against the Vancouver Giants next weekend with the Rockets closing out the season next Saturday at home.
