14 COVID-19 exposures reported on Kelowna and Kamloops flights

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control is reporting 14 COVID-19 exposures on Kamloops and Kelowna flights within the last two weeks. 

Kamloops had one inbound flight with an infectious passenger, on WestJet flight 3241 from Calgary on Aug. 28. Another exposure was reported on outbound flight Air Canada/Jazz 8191, Sept. 2, to Vancouver.

Of the nine flights arriving at Kelowna's airport with possible COVID-19 exposures, three came from Calgary, three came from Edmonton and the other three were from Vancouver.

The flights travelling to Calgary with potentially exposed passengers were Air Canada/Jazz 8401, Sept. 6. WestJet flight 279, Aug. 30 and WestJet flight 3293, Aug. 29.

Flights landing in Kelowna from Edmonton reported at least one COVID-19 case on Flair Airlines 8447, Sept. 3, WestJet flight 3125, Aug. 30 and WestJet flight 3181, Aug. 30.

From Vancouver, exposures were reported on Air Canada/Jazz 8420, Aug. 30, WestJet flight 3330, Aug. 30 and WestJet flight 3330, Sept. 6.

Flights from Kelowna to Vancouver reported exposures on Air Canada/Jazz flight 8415, Aug. 28, WestJet flight 3323, Sept. 2 and WestJet flight 3309 on Sept. 1.

Passengers who have been exposed to affected rows are being asked to self-monitor for symptoms for two weeks and self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop and call the doctor, according to the centre.
