Driver killed in rollover on Highway 97 near Williams Lake

A 62-year-old Williams Lake man is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 97.

Williams Lake RCMP officers were called to the scene at around 3 p.m. Friday, June 4, where they discovered a red Camaro in a ditch on Highway 97 near Maze Lake Road in Lac Le Hache, according to an RCMP press release.

The car was on its roof and the driver had been ejected, RCMP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's identity has not been released.

B.C. Coroners Service is investigating to determine a cause of death.

RCMP said they will not be providing any further information to the public at this time.
