Scooter crash sends one to hospital

WEST KELOWNA – A driver has been fined following a collision in West Kelowna that injured a woman who was riding on a scooter.

The accident happened early Wednesday afternoon on Highway 97 near Old Okanagan Highway.

Shawn Heseltine says he saw the woman get knocked off the scooter by a car that was making a right hand turn onto Highway 97.

The woman has been taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the car was issued a fine of $167 for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
