$40K worth of firefighting equipment stolen near Merritt

Merritt RCMP are trying to track down an estimated $40,000 worth of firefighting equipment stolen near Nicola Lake.

Police say in a news release the equipment, including three fire pumps and a wagon full of nozzles and hoses, was taken from a storage shed after a lock on the shed was cut.

Police say the incident took place on a property near Merritt along Old Nicola Trail.

RCMP received the report of the missing items on Feb. 2 shortly after 9 a.m.
