PENTICTON — A project art show is scheduled to light up downtown buildings and beat the February blues.

This is the first ever projection art show in the Okanagan. The goal is to showcase how vibrant Penticton is and help support local artists, Sayeed said during Monday’’s city council meeting. The show will begin at dusk and last for an hour or two while people are on their way home from work and can then share with their family and friends, he said.

Organizers hope the show will start Monday evening, so long as they have all the equipment needed, including 10 laptops and projectors. The man in charge in the show, Tarik Sayeed, said the show will be underway by Tuesday at the latest, and will last several days.

Local artists have signed on to have their work showcased on the sides of buildings along the 200 block of Main Street in downtown Penticton. The current line up of artists includes Sarah Fahey of Two-Faced Productions; acrylic canvas painter, Laura Morrow; and Jessy Rosner of SunCity Tattoos. Sayeed is hoping to add more artists to the line up before next week.
