What’s happening this weekend in the Okanagan and Kamloops

Spend your first full weekend of March at these incredible, local events across Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Kamloops.

KELOWNA

  • Craft & Chat – Celebrate International Women’s Day with an evening of stories, creativity, and connection at the Okanagan Heritage Museum on March 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are pay what you can.
  • Kelowna Country Takeover – Experience Kelowna’s ultimate country party on March 6 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Tickets are $15 each.
  • Banks Street Market – Compete in a friendly local bouldering competition at Gneiss Climbing on March 7. Entry is $20 per person.
  • Journal Cover Making Workshop – Craft your own A5 trifold leather journal cover at Rustic Reel’s Community Room on March 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $145 each and include all materials and one beverage.
  • International Women’s Day Event – Celebrate at Railside Brewing on March 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy limited-edition Mango & Ginger brews, live music, guest speakers, food, games, and family fun. $4 from every pint supports Mamas for Mamas. Entry is free.

VERNON

  • Spring Market – Browse over forty vendors, enjoy food and beverages, and enter to win door prizes at the Schubert Centre on March 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Entry is free. Read more about this event at our article here.
  • Creatrix Rising Opening Night – Join the opening of the Creatrix Rising healing arts exhibit at the Caetani Cultural Centre on March 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is by donation and is RSVP required. Read more about this event at our article here.
  • I Am Woman, Hear Me Laff! – Enjoy a International Women’s Day comedy celebration at Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre on March 7 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $45.
  • International Women’s Day – Celebrate women through wine, yoga, shopping, painting, and brunch at Gray Monk Estate Winery on March 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Times and prices vary by activity.

PENTICTON

  • Penticton Vees vs Wenatchee Wild – Watch the Vees play at the South Okanagan Events Centre on March 6 from 7:05 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. Ticket prices vary.
  • Penticton Home and Reno Show 2026 – The Canadian Home Builders’ Association South Okanagan hosts the region’s largest home and renovation showcase in Penticton from March 7 to 8 at varying times. Admission is by donation.
  • Canadian Sport School Hockey League Western Championships – The 2026 CSSHL Western Championships bring 106 youth hockey teams from across Western Canada and the U.S. together at the South Okanagan Events Centre from March 7 to 22. Day passes are $27.50 and full tournament passes are $75; spectators 18 and under are free.
  • Penticton MapleFest – Celebrate the first Maple Festival on March 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy interactive workshops, live music, games, and family-friendly activities in partnership with the Centre Culturel Francophone de l’Okanagan.

KAMLOOPS

  • Kamloops Film Society Film Festival – The 30th Annual Kamloops Film Festival showcases award-winning international films at Paramount Theatre from March 5 to 14. Showtimes and ticket prices vary by screening. Read more about this event at our article here.
  • A Juried Art Show – Explore a community visual arts exhibition featuring work from TNRD artists at the Old Courthouse Gallery from March 6 to 14, with closures on Sundays and Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
  • Kamloops Ridge Runners Memorial Spring Run Off – Celebrate the 41st annual spring run with certified 5 km and 10 km races starting at Henry Grube Education Centre on March 8 at 10 a.m. Entry fees range from $30 to $50.
