Snowfall warning issue for Coquihalla from Merritt to Hope

One more reason to stay home tonight: Environment Canada has issued a snowfall advisory for a portion of the Coquihalla Highway.

The mountain pass is expected to get 15 to 25 cms of snow before Saturday morning between Hope and Merritt and to Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass.

Heavy snow is expected tonight but should change to rain Friday afternoon before it changes back to snow again Friday night.

Visibility may be reduced at times in heavy snow.

There is also a winter storm warning for the Trans Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass where up to 40 cm of snow is expected by Sunday morning.
