Accused in Clearwater murder case awaiting bail review

KAMLOOPS – A man accused of murdering his former common-law wife and taking their three children hostage will find out if he is eligible for bail in a week.

Iain Drummond Scott, born 1972, appeared for a bail review last week in Kamloops Supreme Court. Details of the hearing are covered by a publication ban and cannot be made public.

Scott was denied bail after his arrest. A bail review is an application for a Supreme Court Justice to examine the accused's detention order and bail plan to determine the possibility of release.

Angila Wilson, 33, was found dead in her Clearwater home on Easter weekend last year.

Scott was arrested after allegedly taking his three young children hostage in a police standoff.

A judge will decide on Scott’s proposed bail plan February 24.

No death/murder is any worse than another but if it had been a police officer he killed, there would be no bail for him or any chance in him getting out, I just simply don’t understandwhy the murder of her is any less horrible than a police officer, he should be never thought of again in having any chance of getting out, EVER!

omfg……… tell me this is not happening?HOW can skum like this use excuses like “crime of passion”OR “drugs”…… the guy does NOT deserve to be out of jailshe died at his hands and he has a nerve thinking he can raise those poor little children after killing their beautiful mom.

  7. The problem that I have found with our Justice system is they don’t teach anything! When you let people get away with stuff over and over again with very little to no consequences at all, you are teaching them that it is okIT IS NOT! Fair treatment to the crime instantly not down the road is what is needed to teach people to double check with themselves if doing the crime is really worth the risk of spending your life in jail! But because of situations like this people just think “why not” We need to have people think “why would I – I don’t want those kind of consequences” Because they were taught right off the bat there is no more putting up with it! I wish they would treat the crime with the same consequences No life for the person murdered= JAIL -No life for the murderer!
