Federal officials reported some arrests of people protesting near an immigration facility outside Chicago this week, while President Donald Trump is seeking to send 200 National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, a move opposed by the governor and challenged in court.
Memphis, Tennessee, also has seen additional federal authorities as a federal law enforcement task force began operating there as part of Trump’s crime-fighting plan for the city.
