Vernon and Kelowna Search and Rescue team up to find missing person

A significant search effort got underway Saturday night for a person who went missing on Westside Road.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called to look for a missing male in the La Casa area on Westside Road, after an earlier search by RCMP yielded no results.

According to COSAR,  they were called in at about 4:30 p.m. and because of the location, Vernon Search and Rescue volunteers were asked to assist.

More than 30 searchers eventually took part in the task.

"We are happy to report the subject was found by a member of the public and returned home late last evening," COSAR said in a release.
