Convicted flasher charged with exposing himself in Penticton

A convicted flasher, jailed for exposing himself multiple times around the Lower Mainland, has been charged with committing an indecent act in Penticton.

Christopher Kumar Ram was due in court Wednesday, June 11, charged with touching his penis in a public place.

Precise details of what took place aren’t known, but the incident is alleged to have taken place near Warren Avenue in Penticton on Sept. 26, 2024.

Separately, an individual is also seeking a restraining order against Ram for an incident that occurred between January and March of this year.

Ram, who is in his late 30s, made headlines a few years ago when he was convicted for a string of disturbing incidents around the Vancouver area.

According to a Global News report, between October 2021 and April 2022 Ram performed an indecent act while on the SkyTrain in Surrey, pleasured himself in a Vancouver park, and exposed himself in a women’s washroom at the University of British Columbia. He also committed an indecent act inside the security office at Langara College in Vancouver.

He was later jailed for 30 days and put on 18 months of probation.

It’s unclear when he made his way to Penticton, but he was charged with resisting arrest while in Penticton in June 2024. He was also charged with assaulting a police officer, uttering threats, mischief and causing a disturbance for an incident that took place in January in Penticton. These files are still ticking through the court system.

Global News also reported Ram was charged with two counts of committing an indecent act near UBC in Vancouver in May 2023. It’s unclear what happened to those charges.

His criminal record in BC starts in 2018, and he’s been convicted of assault with a weapon, breach and enter, robbery and multiple breaches.

Ram remains in custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for next week.

None of the current charges have been proven in court.
