ALDO shoe stores in Kelowna and Kamloops closing

ALDO shoe store locations in Kelowna and Kamloops are closing as part of the company's restructuring process.

ALDO in Kelowna's Orchard Park Shopping Centre and Call It Spring at the Aberdeen Mall in Kamloops will be shuttered, according to an emailed statement from ALDO media relations.

"At this time, we can't confirm the timing of the closures. In the meantime, the stores remain open for liquidation," the statement reads.

In May, the footwear retailer announced it would file for creditor protection, stating a plan to restructure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The retail fashion industry, already undergoing a sweeping shift amid the migration to online shopping, has been hit hard by the pandemic.

E-commerce at ALDO, Call It Spring and Globo will continue.
