Fire damages three homes in Lake Country

LAKE COUNTRY – Three homes in Lake Country were damaged by fire Wednesday night.

Global Okanagan reports the fire started shortly before 11 p.m. in the carport of a mobile home on Rawsthorne Rd. Flames spread to the rest of the unit as well as two neighbouring units, causing significant damage.

A passing motorist noticed the fire and woke the occupants, who were able to escape uninjured with their cat.

The tenents, who were renting the mobile home, were storing the majority of their personal belongings in the carport.

Investigators will be on scene Thursday determining the cause of the fire.

The residents are insured, however it is reported that the majority of their belongings have been destroyed.
