RCMP search for men who broke into Salmon Arm home, robbed and tied up residents

Salmon Arm RCMP are searching for two suspects following a violent home invasion this morning where two residents were tied up and robbed at knifepoint.

According to a Salmon Arm RCMP media release, two men forced themselves into a property in the 1200 block of 30 Street SW early this morning, June 29.

"Once inside the suspects searched the house and allegedly took cash, debit bank cards, a laptop computer, a tablet and keys to the homeowner’s red Ford Taurus," Salmon Arm RCMP Sgt. Scott West said in the release. "The residents provided access pin codes to the armed suspects after being threatened."

The two men tied the victims up and fled the property. The victims managed to free themselves and went to a neighbour's residence where they called police just after 8 a.m.

RCMP say the stolen Ford Taurus was found in a neighbouring jurisdiction and is now being examined for forensic evidence.

Police describe the first suspect as a Caucasian male, approximately 40 years old, between 5'8" and 6' in height, with a slender build and wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, a pair of light coloured shorts and a light coloured baseball cap.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 40 years old, between 5'8" and 6' in height, with a slender build and wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, and a pair of blue jeans.
