UPDATE: Blaze in Salmon Arm mobile home park deemed suspicious

Salmon Arm firefighters were on scene this morning, tackling a blaze in a mobile home park.

Crews responded at about 6:15 a.m. to a fire at Evergreen Mobile Home Park on 10th Ave NE, according to witness reports.

Witness TJ Wager said he saw the fire was in the shed portion of a building that has been used for storage in the mobile home park.

The shed was destroyed, he said, adding that there was a large amount of smoke and flames.

He said firefighters were quick to extinguish the blaze.

Sgt. Scott West, with the Salmon Arm RCMP, said the fire has been deemed suspicious and the RCMP is investigating the cause.
