Plant Fairies leave anonymous gifts for Kamloops residents

If you find a mysterious potted plant on your doorstep, don't be alarmed — you may have been visited by a Kamloops plant fairy.

Following the anonymous gift-giving trend that began with Wine Fairies in the Okanagan, the Kamloops Plant Fairies was created to spread joy during the pandemic while many are stuck at home.

Jessica Lischka started the project last week to allow those who don't drink alcohol to participate in the fun.

"It's hard being stuck at home and a plant can cheer any plant lover up," she said.

She said she enjoys giving plants too, because she knows she's making someone's day.

The project requires anyone who participates to share their home address, so they are restricting membership.

"It's basically at your own risk, but we try and make it an only women group so women can feel safe," she said.

Those who don't want to share their address can also message Lischka privately to be connected with a fairy.
